Why I'm raising Money: The Twinkle for Heather challenge set up by Girlguiding North Lonsdale Division was created in memory of Heather Porter, a beloved member of Girlguiding from the time she was a Rainbow, all the way to becoming a Leader. Heather sadly took her own life on the 30 April, 2022. Following her passing, Heather’s family, who are also involved in Guiding,
wanted to create something to help others who may be suffering from issues with their mental health - with an initial
conversation with Barb Quine and Glenn Wright, from North Lonsdale division, the Twinkle for Heather
challenge began to grow.
I am walking the K2B for Girlguiding Cumbria South, an organisation which provides girls and young women with great opportunities to be themselves, in an effort to raise awareness of mental health problems, which can affect anyone, but to remind us all that there is always someone out there ready and willing to listen and help at anytime and to advocate ways to promote and maintain good mental health.

All donations are made to the Keswick to Barrow Walk Charity. A percentage of this donation will be used to fund the cost of the walk and support local charities in South Cumbria/North Lancashire. The remainder of the donation will be donated to the Walker's (Team) nominated charity(ies) as listed below.
