Why I'm raising Money: This year, Phoebe and Amy have made the big decision to take on the Keswick to Barrow Walk on 9th May. They’ve chosen to raise money for the Oncology Unit, supporting this vital charity and the individuals and families affected by this devastating condition.

This challenge is especially close to Amy’s heart, and Phoebe is taking on the walk in support of her close friend during an incredibly difficult time. Their friendship has been built on years of laughter, support, and standing by each other through life’s highs and lows, making this challenge something they are facing together, side by side.

Amy sadly lost her Grandma in December 2024 after a brave and courageous battle with kidney cancer, followed by a diagnosis of Lewy body dementia. Her strength throughout her illness and the impact it had on the whole family will never be forgotten.

By completing this walk together, Phoebe and Amy hope to honour her Grandma’s memory, celebrate her resilience, and turn grief into something positive. Every step taken is for her, and for the countless others who are currently fighting cancer or living with the lasting effects it has on families every single day.

Any donation, no matter how big or small, would mean so much and will go directly towards supporting the Oncology Unit, helping to provide care, comfort, and hope to those who need it most.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read Amy’s story and for any support you’re able to give 🤍

All donations are made to the Keswick to Barrow Walk Charity. A percentage of this donation will be used to fund the cost of the walk and support local charities in South Cumbria/North Lancashire. The remainder of the donation will be donated to the Walker's (Team) nominated charity(ies) as listed below.
